Choosing the Right Foundation for Your Post Frame Building

Three Proven Foundation Systems We Use — and When to Use Them

At CC Buildings, we use three trusted foundation systems for our post frame buildings. Each one is tailored to different uses, budgets, and project goals. Below is a quick breakdown to help you choose the right option for your building. With any system you choose from us there will never be any wood underground. This is to avoid rot and add years to the life span of your building!

1. Cast-in-Place Pier Foundation

✔ Standard Price – Ideal for Cold Storage and Open-Space Buildings

This is our most commonly used foundation system. We dig holes and pour concrete directly on site to create piers, and the structural posts are set into these footings.

Best For:

  • Agricultural buildings

  • Cold storage facilities

  • Buildings without an interior concrete floor

2. Precast Pier Foundation

✔ Average Price – Versatile for a Wide Range of Building Types

This system uses pre-manufactured concrete piers that are installed in the ground. Posts are anchored to the piers using specialized brackets. This allows the best value when installing an interior concrete floor.

Best For:

  • Buildings with or without interior concrete floors

  • Workshops, garages, storage buildings

3. Strip Footing Foundation

✔ Higher Price – Best Option for Buildings with Concrete Floors

This is the most substantial foundation system we offer. Strip footings are continuous concrete trenches paired with an interior concrete slab, offering a solid base for finished or heavy-use structures.

Best For:

  • Barndominiums

  • Commercial buildings
